Nerd Night: Going Postal
What if envelopes could tell stories of their travels?
Time & Location
Feb 26, 2025, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Theatre of Memory Museum, 1705 NW 6th St, Gainesville, FL 32609, USA
About the event
Covers, whether they are early “integral address sheets” or later envelopes, tell a story of travel. From walking couriers to wooden ships to aeroplanes, mail moved and showed the path of its passage on its face. Covers became quite collectible. Pictured here is not the first mail to go to the North Pole, but the one of the first to go UNDER it. From truly historic to whimsically historic, the mail has moved through snow, sleet, rain, and dark of night to be enjoyed by nerds. Admission is free, but please RSVP at theatreofmemory.org and we’ll save a chair at the table for you.
